I am looking into the audio extension and asked myself what kind of busses would exist in the module system

1. What power rails/voltages does the axiom supply?

for audio a shield would be most suitable

there are two power rails for each shield, one is the IO voltage and the other can be used for powering electronics on the shields (typically 3.3V)

What is the IO voltage?

btw, I wouldn't put a high quality preamp on the shield, there is a lot going on in the direct vicinity, so it probably will pick up a lot of switching noise

Thought so. Mhhh It would require at least ±5V, and +48V for phantom powering the microphones

but I don't think that you will need much power there, so that should be fine

the question I was asking myself is: who would be the target audience for a high quality audio recording solution embedded into the AXIOM Beta?

while OTOH, when we are talking the typical indie movie maker, the question remains: does it need to be that high end?

With the ODAC ytou're right, was my fault. I would focus on documentary style filmmakers, they are the ones where at least 2 XLR inputs on Camera would make sense. At least my documentary collegues are most of the times very happy about having it

I am not that fit with stepping and inverting powersupplies though, where I come from linear powersupplies are used

Bertl, right. I think I need to reconsider the whole specification thing. I somehow thought this could be a Gamma Module but to be honest, I have no idea what would integrate best with the current designs
