se6astian, are you available for quick update?
07:13
se6astian
morning
07:13
se6astian
yes!
07:13
BAndiT1983
good morning
07:13
BAndiT1983
have you read the logs of the past days?
07:13
se6astian
was super busy the last 2 days so I have not read anything yet
07:14
BAndiT1983
ah, thought so, as your account was logging on and off constantly, so it's a sign that you are somewhere else, probably your smartphone connecting
07:15
BAndiT1983
to summarize up, build of hex and elf in docker were successful, i could add circle CI config for it, at least as example, later vup2 and anuejn can adjust it to their liking
07:18
se6astian
right
07:18
BAndiT1983
could you please grant the rights, so i can add it? and if you have time, then please check the sizes against your local elf and hex
07:19
se6astian
that is a github setting right?
07:19
BAndiT1983
yes, don't know for sure which one, but you have done it several times already
07:20
se6astian
added you with "write" priviledges
07:20
se6astian
please try
07:20
se6astian
only other option is "admin"
07:21
BAndiT1983
thanks, i see it in the circle CI dashboard now, will try to commit something later, don't have my keys with me
07:22
BAndiT1983
se6astian, is there some other option also, i see that it says "contact repo admin", usually there is a button, so it's not activated fully yet
07:22
se6astian
checking the size against the microchip hex/elf will likely yield different results as the commercial compiler provides additional optimization levels
07:22
BAndiT1983
do you use free one?
07:33
Bertl
note that the 'commercial' compiler is a hacked up gcc with a license check which can be easily disabled (or removed from the sources)
07:34
Bertl
Microchip is a little weird in this regard ...
07:34
BAndiT1983
still hope to use plain clang or gcc
07:35
Bertl
sure, if it works, that's the way to go

"Introducing a CoC to a mature community certainly does tend to result in heavy discussion (some portions of which often can turn quite contentious)."
12:45
se6astian
indeed :)
12:47
anuejn
BAndiT1983: fdr the firmware, we are currantly using github releases
12:48
anuejn
works fine :) (but has its quirks and is a bit hacky)
12:48
BAndiT1983
anuejn, can we define what will be released? or is for every build?
12:48
BAndiT1983
*or is it
12:48
anuejn
yup
12:49
anuejn
but they are marked as not protuctidn ready

vup2
as the branch and commit is available in the ci environment (for most ci systems) you could also for example filter out all but the master branch, or only build tagged commits
