morning folks!

Today the coding period has begun, so would you like to advise us on how to start and remain organised in this period? Also when are we receiving the hardware?

sure, so first, communication is very important

how everybody keeps themseleves organized is not something we interfere with, we only create some fixed points (like the weekly meetings) to make sure that as many students (and mentors) as possible come together

on the software side, the first step (and this has either been done already or will take the next few days) is to make sure that the students environment (somewhat) matches what we use, so we can easily exchange test code and work together on specific problems

Ok Bertl, I will try to start writing code today.

apurvanandan[m]: make sure that you can work with the tools (Lattice and Xilinx) also make sure that you know what connects where (schematics) have a plan ready what and how to test (that's basically the schedule for today :)

Nira: you want to look into how the PICs connect on the remote and how debouncing can work (hardware and software) as well as figure out how to program the PICs

Digilent XUP USB JTAG

Somehow I came to the fact that it is compatible with Platform USB II

you can also try urjtag, which supports XUP

But will try it if needed

XUP requires usb-jtag firmware, but i haven't bothered to find proper HEX/ELF, as urjtag was almost ok, but it doesn'T support MIPs properly, so now i use real pic programmer for axiom remote

I tested that in qemu using DaemonCLI which worked fine. As discussed with BAndiT1983 we need to modularise the code for getting voltages and temperature seperately

Not the driver exactly ,the driver already brings the required values to the user space via sysfs,we need to just read those

adapter should be a helper to access specific stuff and module should pacakge properties for different areas of the camera

well, as I already explained, currently there is no storage on the AXIOM Remote

and the plan (for now) is to store settings on the camera (i.e. on the Beta) and have them transferred to the Remote

Will there ever be storage on Remote?

maybe, if there is a compelling reason for adding 'extra' storage to the remote

but at the moment pic32 has enough room

well, I have been improving what I know about how everything works, I have been checking what we use of the PIC32 and checking if I understood everything yet. There are some parts missing yet, but I am on it. And I have also been reading about debouncing

as you probably remember we went to maker faire Berlin last week

the remote beta hardware will come back to the office tomorrow and RexOrCine will reconnect it in the coming days

hope i can remember how to connect to hdmi live feed ;)

okay, so, as se6astian mentioned, we had a lot of fun at Maker Faire Berlin together with vup, anuejn_, BAndiT1983 and many folks who love to exhibit or visit the Faire

I also finished six of the USB 3.x plugin modules, three with the FT601 and three with the F602

after that, I finished two Axiom Remote prototypes, and I am now doing a final test on all the hardware

(yes, I decided to keep one of the Remotes for a few more days because I want to do some testing together with BAndiT1983 to make sure everything is working as expected)

two modules will be installed in a remote Beta (not necessarily tomorrow, but soon) for testing

Bertl, how can i help you with the remote?

we figured that for now it is way simpler to have a remote system which we can maintain and add stuff whenever required
