Hey BAndit1983, can you tell me which is the class which I should look to get the path to the image in OCCore.
11:13
Roopal08
Also, I can't find any execuatble file in OCCore so that I can run it and check from where is it getting the image.
11:15
Roopal08
Also, when I grepped "ThumbnailProvider" in OCBackup, it shows that QMLThumbProvider is used as class where as in OCCore , it shows ThumbnailProvider as the class.
11:16
Roopal08
Also, ThumbNailProvider.h doesn't have any implementation

Good stuff. All the technical discourse takes place in the lab - https://lab.apertus.org/home ... GitHub repos are here - https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema ... and I suppose it would depend on what you'd like to help with.

We're currently working on web redesign so I'm pleased you asked the question. One intention is to have a section talking about the languages associated with specific projects and how to go about assist.

17:07
skinkie
Bertl: I am out at 19:45
17:07
se6astian
so lets start: Bertl wants to give us an update
17:07
Roopal08

17:08
Bertl
okay, so as I already reported some time ago, we had some problems with the PCA9540 used in our power board versions before v0.29
17:09
Bertl
there were situations where the I2C mux got stuck and because it doesn't feature a reset, a power cycle was required
17:09
Bertl
thus we decided to switch to the PCA9543 in v0.29, which features a reset line
17:10
Bertl
this turned out to be a very bad decision, because, despite the documentation saying otherwise, the PCA9543 gets confused when we use the lines for anything but I2C
17:10
Bertl
(which we do in initial programming)
17:10
mgielda
left the channel
17:11
Bertl
so we decided to switch again, this time dropping the I2C mux completely and replacing it with an analog switch (TS3A4751)
17:11
Bertl
luckily that one has the same footprint as the PCA, so the redesign was possible without changing the stencil
17:11
Bertl
we are now waiting for the PCBs to actually test them
17:12
Bertl
on a similar note, the incorrectly connected 3xDP module was fixed
17:13
Bertl
version v1.3 now has the correct mini display port pinout and should be 'compatible' to DP++, i.e. allow for HDMI via converters
17:13
Bertl
on the 4K HDMI module front, we decided to use the Artix as gearwork FPGA
17:14
Bertl
and so we decided to get a 'development board' for that one which features MGTs
17:15
Bertl
we settled on the TE0714 from Trenz, which comes in a small form factor and is quite cheap compared to other solutions
17:15
BAndiT1983
MGT -> Multi-gigabit transceiver
17:15
Bertl
there is a cheap carrier board available, which features SFP, so we can test this in the near future as well
17:16
Bertl
to utilize the TE0714, we also designed our own carrier board for high speed tests and during this development, a new plugin was born
17:17
Bertl
this one will feature an FTDI FT601Q which is a 3.0 USB interface with up to 400MByte/s
17:17
illwieckz
left the channel
17:18
Bertl
it will use one of the Lattice MachXO2 as gearwork chips and the FTDI for the USB interface and fit in a single plugin slot
17:18
Bertl
so in theory, there can be used two plugins to get up to 800MByte/s throughput
17:18
se6astian
what modes does this USB chip support?
17:19
Bertl
currently it is some kind of FIFO protocol, but FTDI just recently announced the FT602
17:19
Bertl
which is very similar (almost pin compatible) to the FT601
17:20
Bertl
and acts as an UVC (camera) device
17:20
Bertl
so that might become very interesting in the near future
17:20
se6astian
nice
17:20
Bertl
of course, designs are ordered and on the way and we will see how/if it works soon
17:21
Bertl
we also finished another AXIOM Beta
17:21
Bertl
the rest of my time I spent with talking to GSoC applicants, explaining stuff and reading proposals
17:22
Bertl
and of course, reworking and testing AXIOM Beta boards
17:22
Bertl
that's basically it from my side :)
17:23
Bertl
WAKE UP!
17:23
se6astian
GSoC application deadline is april 3rd btw
17:23
se6astian
so currently students are refining their proposals and discussing with mentors
17:24
se6astian
nobody else pmed me so I will give a brief update
17:24
RexO
Do we know where this new Beta is going to?
17:24
se6astian
the wiki has a new theme that is working pretty well so far: https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Main_Page
17:24
se6astian
The new beta is in paris already
17:25
se6astian
I will send another one (that was our vienna development/shooting unit so far) to brussels tomorrow
17:25
se6astian

17:25
RexO
Ten4
17:26
se6astian
other small updates: we had another company restructure IRC meeting recently
17:26
skinkie
Bertl: regarding the UVC camera device, what would be the input?
17:26
se6astian
it turned out the organization structure of an SCE
17:26
niemand
joined the channel
17:26
se6astian
is not widely adopted and doesnt offer any reasonable advantages over a traditional cooperative
17:26
Bertl
skinkie: the sensor stream from the AXIOM Beta
17:26
se6astian
so we are continuing our investigations, nothing has been decided yet
17:27
skinkie
Bertl: processed by the fpga or raw-raw?
17:27
se6astian
TT 12.3 with lots of sample footage and raw clips to download will go online soon
17:27
se6astian
not sure if I will be able to do it now
17:27
se6astian
or rather tomorrow late afternoon
17:27
Bertl
skinkie: whatever we can fit within the UVC specification and the FT602
17:28
se6astian
if you want to help review the footage and find any last remaining grading issues or suggestions for improvement pm me
17:29
se6astian
have to admit I cant remember anything else to report right now
17:29
se6astian
ah BAndiT1983 started working on the new drupal8 apertus theme
17:29
skinkie
se6astian: what is SCE in fully?
17:29
se6astian
to replace the current website
17:30
se6astian
skinkie: https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/social-economy/cooperatives/european-cooperative-society_fr
17:30
BAndiT1983
too soon to speak about the theme ;) just wait for a couple of newer screenshots
17:30
se6astian
and niemand offered to help with webserver administration which is great and we are discussing next/first steps currently
17:31
illwieckz
joined the channel
17:31
se6astian
thats it from my side
17:31
skinkie
se6astian: the downside of a cooperation is that you pay profit tax twice
17:31
se6astian
anything else to add/discuss feel free to mention it now
17:32
se6astian
skinkie: not sure what you mean
17:32
skinkie
se6astian: once at the cooperation, and once at the member of the cooperation
17:32
RexO
skinkie, it's a sort of cooperative society that allows for easier cross-national operations. In a nutshell we're trying to find ways to structure the Association so that the community is able to benefit more.
17:32
simonrepp
next meeting date needs to be established :)
17:32
skinkie
you may want to investigate an 'normal' not-incorporated joint venture
17:33
RexO
The only thing I would say is that some headway has been made on a series of website redesign mocks, so if you know anyone with Drupal experience who'd be willing to do some work in this regard it would be good to talk with them.
17:33
se6astian
simonrepp: right: what about doing a 3week break now, monday the 17 of april 19:00 CET?
17:34
simonrepp
alright with me!
17:34
se6astian
ah and next axiom demonstration: Maker Faire Sachsen (Chemnitz) 22.4 and 23.4
17:35
se6astian
if anybody feels like meeting
17:35
se6astian
or seeing the Beta in action
17:35
se6astian
also we are in preparation of being part of an exhibition in the vienna museum of applied arts (MAK) during summer
17:36
se6astian
its about new methods and structures of innovation collaboration

se6astian
but if you have suggestions for topics to cover let us know
17:38
RexO
davidak - actually there's been talk of laying the groundwork for facial reenactment algorithms inside the Beta for those purposes.
17:39
se6astian
yes, we will stop shooting team talks, rather program them from now on :)
17:39
se6astian
next meeting on 17th of april 19:00 CET
17:39
se6astian
meeting concluded for today!
17:39
se6astian

17:43
se6astian
for several reasons
17:43
se6astian
like we dont have one currently :)
17:43
se6astian
and once we built a new one we will likely want to show and demo stuff with it in the TT
17:43
davidak
that should be pririty
17:43
