btw - are the any real benefit of using a zynq? it seems like more expensive than discrete fpga+arm (which is also more versatile)

arms do have parallel buses, pcie, or camera interfaces if asymetric load is necessary

I have the DM385 selected - it has a hardware 1080p60 encoder (other chips got it p30 max) for streaming/proxies

for what purpose? the soft core can do at most 2000MIPS

not saying that it has to be that way, but it has certain advantages ... anyway, make a design and explain it properly

it has pcie, so I would put the highspeed stuff on a pcie switch, which can handle 40G+

one of the advantages here is, that the cpu can be a pcie device as well - so putting 2 slaves on a bus could do 1080p120 / 4k30, four twice of that.. it is easily scalable (thanks to pcie backplane)
