problem is still open because we are out of PICs at the moment

the mechanical trimmers which always caused headaches on the power board have been discontinued, so we are currently working on a replacement there

and of course, a lot of tests on the software side, because sooner or later we need to rework the firmware part

we are waiting for the list I guess, and then questions will arise

a "reduced story complexity" is definitely a good choice for such an adventure

1. the integrating sphere is operational, herbert provided me with two sensor front end pcbs and 2 image sensors

then add one component to the PCB and redo these tests

then add a couple more components and redo the tests again

the "best" board will then get into production

everything will be documented on the wiki I guess ?

not sure if we will be able to share the entire snapshot archive, each run will produce several GBs of data

3. the powerboard is currently undergoing the planning of a redesign so we started collecting things we want to change/improve yesterday

as I was never a good 1AC, I rely on his DOP remarks : lots of cinema accessories (motorized follow focus for example) are 12V powered

it saves the need of multiple batteries : one (big) battery to rule them all

so its a convenience feature but not a must-have?

but also a way to make it friendlier to the professionnal users

right

it's a matter of perspective I guess, but the more "details" like this we can feature, the more "pro" the camera will look like and eventually it'll be used on regular production because cinema people feel confortable

like being able to record 4k uncompressed raw

I just mentionned it the first time because I remember it and the second time because we were discussing of power board changes

I know why HDMI was developped first

I don't think we want to put a specific converter on the power board (for several reason) but there is no problem with having an efficient external converter

we alread tested this with those car USB adapters which work just fine

well, the Beta input is 5V so I think a buck will suffice
