where is the hardware development taking place?

Depends. Assembly of the stacks is conducted in Vienna but some of the parts milling takes place in Germany. A couple of the regionals are moving now and Belgium, for instance, has pushed forward laser cut enclosure files,

Assembly, shipping and delivery of Beta I's is done inside six weeks presently and an estimated ship date for Beta II's will be announced over the next couple of months.

Not as far as I know. There are two Beta I's in North America at the moment.

One was reconfigured for aerial mapping use. The other is intended for production shooting but its owner is keen on developing mobile application. Arizona I think.
