| 01:09 | Rebelj12a | Been a while. Hard at work I see.
| 01:09 | Rebelj12a | Really been trying to plug Apertus where I can. Not too overtly but just in general to interested parties.
| 01:10 | Rebelj12a | Hackaday for instance. Ill be entirely honest… Hackaday.io has fantastic project management on the website. Quite helpful and very nice.
| 01:11 | Rebelj12a | Btw Bertl, thanks for the help on the FAU unit. Unfortunately its not meant to run at high voltages. Well even 5v is too much, burned out the RED led and caused problems with blue and green. Low power and light emittance unit. Quite sad.

| 20:26 | comradekingu | Ok everyone, point your browsers to https://www.apertus.org/home-wip and consider
| 20:28 | comradekingu | it is meant to encapsule everything apertus is about
| 20:29 | se6astian | "Behind the scenes unravels a story about things not yet seen. In the scope of unseen perspectives and incredible images." -> that sounds like typical marketing/ad talk
| 20:29 | se6astian | what does it want to say?
| 20:30 | se6astian | could be identical for a website about a new ketchup flavour :)
| 20:31 | se6astian | "apertus° gives back what has been taken from the user, a return to power where it belongs." -> what was taken? what power? why does it belong there, and where is there?

| 20:32 | se6astian | "The word "Free" would cover this, but not out of necessity of being gratis. Free as in associated liberty." -> cover this? what is this?
| 20:32 | comradekingu | it wants to say "we are film folk, and we talk in this manner" rather than be plain marketing
| 20:32 | comradekingu | se6astian: that is the essence of what freedom entails
| 20:33 | comradekingu | in english free means both frei, and gratis "kostnadsfrei"
| 20:34 | se6astian | dont explain it to me :) -> make the text explain it to everyone
| 20:34 | comradekingu | many things are cheap, only freedom is priceless, free doesnt specify
| 20:35 | comradekingu | The people who didnt already know seem to be able to grasp it, would be very interested to hear from someone who doesnt
| 20:35 | comradekingu | thats the main point i felt the current approach failed. It was halfway there for those in the know, and too verbose and divided for those who werent
| 20:37 | comradekingu | The top picture on https://www.apertus.org/ is good
| 20:39 | comradekingu | i dont think non-marketing is synonymous with devoid of feeling, some level of interesting can be welcoming to more people

| 20:41 | comradekingu | the 3 first blurbs are for documentation, software and hardware, respectively
| 20:41 | comradekingu | and they try to present the bulk of what each license is about, meanwhile presenting the apertus story

| 21:21 | comradekingu | hello, back again. I thought about it. If you arent passionate about what you are talking about, people dont tend to listen. The exception is engineers and us, but that battle is already won. A lot of projects of this nature seem to fall in the trap of not communicating to a wider audience.
