Bertl_zZ (and anyone else who can review PCB designs): when you get a moment, I'd like a quick review of this board before I go about starting to do length matching / tuning

kicad is fine

Bertl: git clone --recursive https://github.com/mithro/HDMI2USB-TOFE-AXIOM-adapter.git

Bertl: still haven't decided on the 12V to 5V supply yet
05:23
mithro
Bertl: but I'm more concerned with the placement of the connectors and things like the trace sizes
05:45
mithro
Bertl: I still need to do a lot of clean up of the traces, do length matching, etc

looks like I've found a way to encode the 12-bit raw data from the CMV sensor to 8-bit, in a nearly lossless way: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4124919/bleeding-edge/apertus/hdmi-raw/optimal_curve.html
18:54
alexML_
anyone would like to double-check my math?
19:13
danieel
do you have a C code? it resembles just some log curve, is it that? one that maximizes the DR, with less number of bits, because 12bit refers to linear space, while 8 bit for a curved?
19:27
alexML_
just octave code, but the relevant functions (noise_model and cumsum) are very easy to write in C
19:28
alexML_
yes, it's similar to a log curve
19:29
alexML_
tweaked to the noise profile of the sensor
