is there a link for the T-shirt ?
21:33

link for what exactly?

got it https://images.indiegogo.com/file_attachments/877408/files/20140923134947-axiom-crew-thsirt.jpg?1411505387
21:34

important to decide the button perk :)
21:35

well, the campaign is over, so no more button/t-shirt perks :)

ah, yes, the t-shirt might actually look a little better, but you have to check with se6astian
21:36
Gegsite
the point is that is black
21:36
Gegsite
so I pick the button perk b6 then
21:36
Bertl
I see, perfect then
21:37
Gegsite
I hope the that is the back of the T-shirt (see the nack line)
21:37
Bertl
yes, that's the idea, IIRC

Hi hi, I'm following from a far the FPGA stuff, really exciting possibilities
21:46
Bertl
great! what is your main interest there?
21:47
Gegsite

21:48
pizthewiz
I'm pretty naive to the whole thing, but I have a corrective and artist GL shader pipeline that would someday be neat to see what could be done on the FPGA
21:49
pizthewiz
I'd imagine the LUTs could be (mis)used for some artistic effect as well
22:00
designbybeck_

22:02
se6astian
pizthewiz: yes, LUTs can be used for all kinds of things
22:03
se6astian
be it improving the image quality or baking in an artistic choixe

se6astian

22:09
troy_s
pizthewiz: Generally camera LUTs are never creative.
22:09
troy_s
pizthewiz: There is only really one ideal LUT per given camera settings set.
22:10
pizthewiz
There are multiple LUTs on-board though no?
22:10
Bertl
yes, and you can adjust and abuse all of them :)
22:10
Bertl
we already used the pipeline to do psychodelic live views :)
22:11
troy_s
pizthewiz: I am not sure why you may want multiple but alas... Unless per ISO etc. setting for display correction to 709 or such.
22:12
troy_s
(Although I suppose storing a few looks on board could work for general look based outs.)
22:13
troy_s
Bertl: Brings up a question: is the processing capable of applying a CDL transform based off of settings? (And stored as metadata)
22:13
pizthewiz
Certainly not the ideal spot for artistic look development, but it could be interesting. As long as all 3 (I thought there were three at least) weren't needed to pull the image to some sort of baseline.
22:14
troy_s
pizthewiz: The base is the raw, then the XYZ transform for entry to grading of course. CDLs would be an asset for creative sort of entry looks.
22:19
Bertl
troy_s: maybe, we'll see

don't some DoPs/directors apply custom LUTs on set to keep the producer/execs from getting nervous?

give them a closer idea how the final shot will look?

troy_s: Troy, if i can abuse the channel a littke, do you think Brendan Bolles is onto something with .MOX format crowdfunding? He wants to pack other stuff like openexr inside together with sound and metadata?

__anton__: Never looked into it at all. OpenEXR for an internal camera format???

troy_s: I haven't heard of 'one-light'
22:57
troy_s
intracube: During film era, the grading suites were tri color (shocker!)
22:57
philippej
think of it as a quick grade
22:57
troy_s
intracube: One-light referred to the dailies grade, or effectively chaining all lights together. This is effectively a transfer curve, with no saturation intents.
22:58
troy_s
intracube: Later, as it became easier in the lab, the term persisted somewhat, and became a sort of quickie / proxy grade.
22:58
jucar

22:58
intracube
troy_s: ah ok
22:59
troy_s
intracube: Today, the one-light is often created on set after shooting instead of the lab. This one-light can be baked into dailes and even applied for editorial. Sometimes, it may be used even as a base entry point for a final grade.
22:59
troy_s
(Some shooters enter final grade from scratch too of course.)
