lets do the usual oder: metal_dent[m], bluez, eppisai, ...
17:01
se6ast1an
metal_dent[m]: please go ahead
17:01
metal_dent[m]
last week i finished my college midterm report for this internship with the help from BAndiT1983|away
17:02
anuejn
is here
17:02
metal_dent[m]
then i started documenting the communication between Remote and host PC (my GSoC project)
17:03
metal_dent[m]
i have finished the first draft but obviously it needs improving so i'll work more on it this week
17:04
metal_dent[m]
when it's done the documentation can be found here -> https://lab.apertus.org/T1122
17:04
metal_dent[m]
that's it from me! thanks!
17:05
se6ast1an
many thanks
17:05
se6ast1an
bluez: your turn
17:05
bluez
yep!
17:06
bluez
so the issue from before was fixed... turns out my bitstream modifier script was working correctly... only the bitstream was not correctly uploaded into the fpga becuase of the CRC checks
17:07
bluez
so i modified my script to re-calculate and update the CRC values and now it is working fine
17:08
bluez
other than that i also finished my report... and modified various scripts to support the whole partial dynamic reconfiguration process i.e. read out, modify and write back the associated frames in runtime
17:09
se6ast1an
nice, did you test it already?
17:10
bluez
yep i did test by modifying the full bitstream... i was just now testing with the partial bitstream after all the required modifications
17:10
se6ast1an
great!
17:11
bluez
so most relevant scripts can be found here:
17:11
bluez
https://github.com/Swaraj1998/reg-test/tree/master/scripts
17:11
bluez
and here:
17:11
bluez

17:13
se6ast1an
well done, Bertl_oO might have additional questions but he is still on route to us I assme
17:13
se6ast1an
*assume
17:13
bluez
the partial reconfiguration should also work... only i need to check for a few more things... like to ensure the modified frames do no also control any dynamic elements (like memory LUTs)... which i will do next
17:13
bluez
se6ast1an: yeah
17:14
bluez
i'll take his questions when he arrives np :)
17:14
bluez
so thats all from me!
17:16
se6ast1an
thanks
17:16
se6ast1an
eppisai: your turn!
17:16
eppisai
Hi :)
17:17
eppisai
Since last week I have reading pic32mz manual.. and trying ways in which I can profile firmware and understand it better..
17:17
eppisai
I was finally able to set-up Google's orbit, it was working proper for my older c++ project.. but
17:19
eppisai
Current firmware's elf file was compiled for mips32-linux i.e pic32 architecture. So, Google's orbit couldn't be used..
17:20
eppisai
Same with valgrind. But visualizer was working fine in these..so analysing stack from here.. but still have no approximation of size
17:20
eppisai
So, will probably try r2cutter again..
17:20
eppisai
Also, while reading pic32mz manual, I found good enough section on timers
17:21
eppisai
I am reading about it, and have understood to some extend.. and have reading doing my homework on interrupt also in pic32.
17:21
eppisai
That's it from my side :)
17:21
se6ast1an
many thanks
17:22
se6ast1an
anuejn: you have some news for us!
17:23
anuejn
I started to do some prototyping for my gsoc project
17:24
anuejn
I began to implement the outlined gui framework and can already draw some rounded rectangles and text :)
17:25
se6ast1an
cool, screenshot?
17:25
anuejn
also layout and the react like interface have a preliminary implementation so I am able to describe simple (non interactive) scenes
17:26
anuejn
I had much help & feedback from vup :)

se6ast1an
nice
17:29
se6ast1an
lets chat afterwards as this could also run on the rock pi 4 I am testing currently
17:30
anuejn
(this is produced by this code snippet: https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema/axiom-recorder/blob/aa46fad2c5ad3c27149aba774f2f18622fbd3261/narui/src/main.rs#L17-L33)
17:30

the performance also looks okay so far
17:31
anuejn
thats it from my side
17:31

many thanks!
17:32

BAndiT1983|away: is still away I guess so quick updates from me
17:32
se6ast1an
the hardware production at tele has started on friday for one PCB side and continued today for the other side
17:33
se6ast1an
I filmed the process and can send you an internal preview if you didnt see it yet message me on IRC
17:33
se6ast1an
next is the automated optical inspection which will start to be prepared tomorrow
17:34
se6ast1an
on another front: the interactive cad viewer: https://apertus-open-source-cinema.github.io/cad-3d-viewer/
17:35
se6ast1an
there was some progress behind the scenes with more environment models created, bandit started refactoring the code with JS frameworks (he would be better to explain this) and we tested assembly animations in the viewer
17:36
se6ast1an
regarding the rock pi I just successfully assembled the test setup with the right cables and adapters and booted it for the first time successfully just half an hour ago
17:36
se6ast1an
will now att the NVME ssd and run speed tests

Thanks for moderating :)
17:42
se6ast1an
:P
17:59
bluez
se6ast1an: Bertl_oO: I just tested with the partial bitstream as well.. whole reconfiguration process works as expected as of now :)
17:59
se6ast1an
hurray!
18:00
bluez
:D
18:01
bluez
need to do further checks though... so that the frames don't interfere with anything which they shouldn't
18:23
Bertl_oO
sorry I couldn't make it ... our heating system needed a mini service ... it is still quite cold here ...
