| 12:38 | Bertl | morning folks!
| 17:00 | Bertl | MEETING TIME!
| 17:00 | Bertl | please /msg me if you want to report anything
| 17:01 | vup | is here
| | 17:06 | Bertl | vup: do you want to report anything?
| 17:06 | vup | nope, was quite busy with other stuff...
| 17:07 | Bertl | okay, guess it will be a short meeting then
| 17:07 | Bertl | se6astian is still on his way back to Vienna
| 17:07 | Bertl | our intern, yasmin, is missing again, and there is not too much to report from my side
| 17:08 | tpw_rules | my thesis is almost done so my free time is set to expand soon. i don't believe i ever got login information for the new setup vup
| 17:10 | Bertl | okay, so I did some more tests with the Magewell PCIe device
| 17:10 | Bertl | and it seems to work reasonably well with a small test tool written around the SDK they provide
| 17:11 | Bertl | did some test runs with 1mio frames captured over 3 HDMI ports at the same time
| 17:11 | Bertl | and we got about 10-20 bad frames per input under 'normal load' conditions
| 17:11 | Bertl | mostly dropped frames but also some frames which did not pass the hash test
| 17:12 | Bertl | I think this can be improved further by using a dedicated system instead of a desktop which is also used for many other things during captuer, but even if not, the failure rate is quite low
| 17:13 | Bertl | (note this was already done with the 2048x1080p60 mode, so increased amount of data)
| 17:14 | Bertl | that's it from my side for today, and if nobody else wants to report anything, also the conclusion of this short meeting
| 17:14 | Bertl | se6astian might report more stuff when he finally arrives ...
| 17:17 | Bertl | off for now ... bbl
| 17:17 | Bertl | changed nick to: Bertl_oO

| 19:06 | se6astian | back
| 19:06 | se6astian | thanks for taking care of the meeting bertl
| 19:07 | se6astian | quick reports from my side:
| 19:07 | se6astian | I tested the rock pi 4 with the magewell device and after resolving an issue with the 5V lab power supply and switching to a PD usbc one the magewell works as expected
| 19:08 | se6astian | testing actual full fps capture was hampered by the too slow nvme ssd
| 19:08 | se6astian | benchmarks showed it cannot reach the 311MB/s combing in
| 19:08 | se6astian | and just has comparison maxed out the CPU power of the rockpi
| 19:09 | se6astian | so my plan now is to source a high end nvme ssd
| 19:09 | se6astian | and benchmark that and test it on the rockpi
| 19:09 | se6astian | beside that I improved the raw capture software tools and conversion scripts a bit here and there for raw video capture
| 19:10 | se6astian | so signs are good that the rockpi could become a very small mobile recorder hardware platform
| 19:10 | se6astian | thats it from my side for this week
