| 17:00 | se6astian | MEETING TIME
| 17:00 | se6astian | who is here?
| 17:00 | Bertl | is here
| | 17:00 | se6astian | Bertl: I know you have been very busy and successful, do you want to give us some insights?
| 17:01 | Bertl | sure, why not?
| 17:01 | Bertl | I've been mostly working on the comissioned LAM/INT changes to the gateware and with great success as it seems
| 17:03 | Bertl | besides improving the address generator and reordering the register sets to simplify timing closure we also managed to finally clock the sensor with 300MHz which gives us a 20% speed gain over the previous versions
| 17:04 | Bertl | and over the weekend I wanted to test my hypotheses that binning should already work with the new gateware despite the remapper still messing with the sensor data and indeed, today I succeeded with an (almost) live view of binned raw data from the sensor
| 17:05 | se6astian | wonderful!
| 17:05 | cscar | joined the channel |
| 17:05 | Bertl | so the binned data is captured from the sensor and stored in memory which is then transferred via HDMI (dual magewell capture setup) to my workstation where a python opencv script assembles the data back into a grey image
| 17:05 | cscar | Hi!
| 17:07 | Bertl | there are some new artefacts in the binned image which we have not observed before (like some row pattern) but this seems to be a fixed pattern and can probably also be adjusted with the right sensor settings
| 17:08 | Bertl | that's it from my side for this week!
| 17:08 | se6astian | many thanks, great news!
| 17:09 | se6astian | mini updates from me as I am unfortunately still pretty swamped with other things: mainly working on beta hardware assembly and preparing components for next production run
| 17:09 | se6astian | counting, collecting components
| 17:09 | se6astian | making lists of things we still need to order
| 17:09 | se6astian | like we noticed we are short one PCB :)
| 17:10 | se6astian | I will need your help soon cscar as we will need to go through belgium again with any new orders
| 17:10 | cscar | Of course
| 17:10 | se6astian | anuejn/vup/BAndiT1983_ finished the PLR HDR webui elements
| 17:10 | se6astian | I tested them and they work!
| 17:11 | se6astian | there is a small issue now with the analog gain slider not working with 1/3 and 2/3 options
| 17:11 | se6astian | but thats a minor issue
| 17:11 | cscar | Great. I'll also do tests soon.
| 17:11 | se6astian | I also proposed a way forward for the next steps to take with the CP enclosure
| 17:11 | se6astian | a small batch production for early adopters
| 17:12 | se6astian | where the simple elements are replaced by 3d print parts
| 17:12 | se6astian | like the side plates for connectors
| 17:12 | se6astian | the rest of the parts remainn alumnium as in the prototypes
| 17:13 | se6astian | thats it from my side
| 17:13 | cscar | How about the top and bottom parts?
| 17:13 | se6astian | cscar: you have some enclosure news for us as well?
| 17:13 | se6astian | top and bottom are aluminum
| 17:13 | cscar | Yes, but they could be 3D printed if needed.
| 17:14 | se6astian | the bottom cap contains the lens mount screws so that a part I would not recommend to make from plastic rather than aluminum
| 17:14 | se6astian | same for the top 1/4" mount holes for cap top
| 17:15 | se6astian | I will create an illustration that shows which parts I would see as 3d print and which as aluminum, that should pain a clearer picture then I hope
| 17:16 | se6astian | *paint
| 17:16 | cscar | Yes, good idea. Let's discuss it further by mail or through the task management.
| 17:16 | se6astian | yes
| 17:16 | cscar | I have some small updates.
| 17:18 | cscar | I've received 90° male-male HDMI plugs that can connect the Beta to the magewell. It means no cable in between so it fits directly to the back of the Beta enclosure.
| 17:18 | Bertl | interesting ... please run some performance tests on them
| 17:18 | cscar | I've just ordered two types of flat ribbon wire USB 3.0 cables (5cm) to go from the magewell to the Lattepanda.
| 17:19 | cscar | They won't be as tight as the HDMI solution, but I hope it'll keep everything as small and clean as possible for the recorder.
| 17:20 | cscar | That's about it from me. I was away some time judging at the ECU film festival in Paris :)
| 17:21 | cscar | Where we didn't let Oscar Isaac win best actor :D
| 17:22 | se6astian | any pcitures for us, also of 3d print enclosure progress?
| 17:22 | cscar | One moment. I'll upload them.

| 17:25 | cscar | https://lab.apertus.org/M40/287/
| 17:26 | cscar | Also possible to keep the magewell in it's enclosure if needed: https://lab.apertus.org/M40/288/
| 17:27 | se6astian | thanks!
| 17:28 | se6astian | are there any pending changes to the 3d print enclosure or are you happy with the way it is now?
| 17:28 | se6astian | or do you want to integrate the recorder before releasing the designs for the camera?
| 17:29 | cscar | I'd like to modify the middle part to make it stronger. And I'm looking at solutions for the recorder enclosure. But first we need to know how much space the connections need.
| 17:30 | cscar | But the printed enclosure is quite strong as it is now.
| 17:31 | se6astian | great!
| 17:32 | se6astian | anything else to add to the meeting, anyone else here who wants to report/share?
| 17:32 | cscar | Any updates on the idea to control basic commands as booting the camera and HDMI start/stop through the web gui?
| 17:32 | cscar | https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema/webui/issues/31
| 17:33 | se6astian | not that I am aware of
| 17:33 | se6astian | it sounds simple to add though judging from the comments
| 17:33 | cscar | OK, I'll discuss it there.
| 17:35 | se6astian | ok then, many thanks Bertl & cscar!
| 17:35 | se6astian | MEETING CONCLUDED
| 17:36 | cscar | Bye!
