Riot application probably.
02:08
mithro
RexOrCine[m]: Did you set that up? I'm potentially interested in doing something similar for the TimVideos stuff....
02:10
RexOrCine[m]
Nah. I just downloaded the Riot app for android and it was rolling. On it now. Matrix was mentioned but I'm not sure any measures were taken to employ anything besides the use of Riot.
02:11
RexOrCine[m]
It's OK because it's constant. Whereas IRC bounces you with applications like AndChat every now and then. Riot just chugs along.
02:12
RexOrCine[m]
Oh, and it sends push notes.
02:18
mithro
RexOrCine[m]: What I want is a better way to embed a chat interface into our website
02:20
RexOrCine
Ah. That's what I suggested about a year ago when we were toying with bringing the forum back.
02:21
RexOrCine
It's possible.
02:21
mithro
RexOrCine[m]: our website == TimVideos website, not the Apertus on :-)
02:22
RexOrCine
Aye I gathered that. There was a repo on GitHub to get it going but I'm not sure it was completed. Unfortunately this was all discussed here and nothing went in the labs about it.
02:22
RexOrCine
I'll see if Google can put me on the scent.

02:23
mithro
Well, that is what we already doo
02:26
RexOrCine
You know https://timvideos.us/ is just a blank screen atm aye?
02:26
mithro
RexOrCine: Yes - that only shows stuff when an event is streaming, code.timvideos.us is the website for developers...
02:26
RexOrCine
Ah. Yeah I was there two. Second yield on Google.
02:27
RexOrCine
too*
02:27

hdmi2usb.tv is also our other site

RexOrCine
Not sure what you want that's different, but if you sort it let me know Tim. Maybe it's something we should be doing.
03:01
mithro
RexOrCine: The big problem with the current IRC interface is that they don't have channel history - so they have no context or things to read - just a blank screen to type into
03:01
mithro
The webchat interface also isn't very nice compared to modern web apps
03:02
RexOrCine
Definitely. There's so much detail lost. Let's face it people can't be bothered with logs.
03:02
RexOrCine
But logs are better than no logs.
03:04
RexOrCine
This has been a dilemma for me for ages. Because you start looking at things like Slack and its variants. Spent a long time looking at Slack but what really put me off was how it has all these commands and shortcuts...
03:05
RexOrCine
... so someone ends up, or you end up expecting someone to, learn all these commands.
03:07
mithro
Slack has the advantage that lots of people are already using it
03:08
RexOrCine
The way we've been looking at it recently is that it's a good way to seperate the wheat from the chaff, ie. If someone can't be arsed to jump into IRC then the chances of them putting any substantial effort into more demanding things are slim.
03:09
RexOrCine
It's not OS of course.
03:10
RexOrCine
On the subject of what people are using, I'm seeing good results from Mastodon.Social. Put it this way, with 100 followers we get more interactions on Mastodon than we do on Twitter with 12,000 followers.
03:11
RexOrCine
But it's also populated with the kind of people who might get involved back-end.
03:15
RexOrCine
(Those 12,000 followers are mainly end-users)

Hi!
17:04
se6astian
good evening
17:05
se6astian
please in the traditional fashion pm me now if you want to report about something
17:05
se6astian
niculescu_vlad|a: you are the first
17:05
se6astian
please go ahead
17:08
niculescu_vlad|a
ok
17:08
niculescu_vlad|a
So, I don't know exactly what I said last time, so I might repeat
17:09
niculescu_vlad|a
I fixed the UART I2C Bridge for controlling the DAC
17:09
niculescu_vlad|a
I equipped the PCB and started testing it
17:09
niculescu_vlad|a
all blocks worked as expected, excepting the Comparator
17:10
niculescu_vlad|a
I did a mistake in the comparator's layout
17:10
niculescu_vlad|a
but hopefully was easily fixed
17:10
niculescu_vlad|a
Now the board is fully functional
17:10
niculescu_vlad|a
I went to control algorithm design
17:11
dasChristoph[m]

17:11
niculescu_vlad|a
for the moment I obtain efficiencies between 70 and 93% (depending on load)
17:11
se6astian[m]
left the channel
17:12
niculescu_vlad|a
Now I am trying to figure out which is the most appropriate switching frequency and design the algorithm (maybe use variable switching frequency, but don't know yet)
17:12
niculescu_vlad|a
In a couple of days I hope to have a good algorithm and I will provide an efficiency chart
17:12
niculescu_vlad|a
That's all from my side
17:12
se6astian
sounds good
17:12
se6astian
many thanks
17:13
niculescu_vlad|a
you are welcome!
17:13
se6astian
it would be cool if you created an article for the website/wiki with the results summarized at the end of august
17:14
se6astian
but there is plenty of time for that left
17:14
niculescu_vlad|a
Sure, I will!
17:14
se6astian
Champika our other gsoc student is currently absent
17:14
se6astian
we are trying to get in touch with him
17:14
se6astian
Bertl: please report
17:15
Bertl
okay, as mentioned in a previous meeting, we started working on the hardware modules we finished some time ago
17:16
Bertl
the main focus was on the USB30 plugin, and we already managed to transfer artificial test data via USB
17:16
Bertl
bandwidth looks promising but the FT601 gets quite hot, so we need to consider some heatsink for the module
17:17
Bertl
we also spent some time on discussing the SDI module with felix_
17:17
Bertl
we had a nice and very productive meeting in Vienna, maybe felix wants to talk about the plans later

17:18

and since last week, I'm working on a new Axiom Beta image for future AXIOM Betas
17:19

is the new beta image already created through automated methods (qemu)?
17:21
Bertl
we are toying with that, but it doesn't seem to be useable yet
17:21
se6astian
ok
17:22
se6astian
brief update from me
17:22
se6astian
1. last week we shot Team Talk 13
17:23
se6astian
it will cover 2 episodes most likely
17:25
se6astian
2. we will release a new article later today
17:25
se6astian
https://www.apertus.org/road-from-axiom-beta-developer-kit-to-production-camera-article-july-2017
17:26
se6astian
3. a first PCB has been automatically populated by our Pick and place machine
17:26
se6astian
we are at the assembly office right now working on the machine
17:26
se6astian
so good progress with increasing production volumes in the future
17:26
se6astian
the above artile also covers this with 2 videos, etc.
17:27
se6astian
4. the ecosystem can now display locations of developer kits in the world
17:27
se6astian
https://www.apertus.org/ecosystem-map?field_services_value%5B%5D=AXIOM+Beta+Developer+Kit
17:27
se6astian
we are contacting and adding developers who received a kit currently to add them to the map
17:28
se6astian
people who do not respond will get an "anonymous" tag with only very rough location and no name in the entry
17:28
se6astian
thats it from my side
17:28
se6astian
anyone else want to report anything now is a good time!
17:30
se6astian
