Bertl: How do you combine matrices?
00:50
Bertl
simple matrix multiplication
00:51
Bertl
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_multiplication
00:52
Bertl
(Matrix product)
00:53
Bertl
note that it is not commutative, i.e. order matters

slikdigit: you're good with blender?
02:14
troy_s
Bertl: slikdigit is more than good.
02:15
troy_s
Bertl: ;)
02:15
troy_s
Bertl: He's the director of Elephant's Dream. Not sure if you have seen it or not. :)
02:15
Bertl
I was hoping for that :)
02:16
Bertl
I'm desperately looking for a cool 4k rendered image for testing to replace the 'awful' color smoke now that we have deep color :)
02:17
Bertl
i.e. something which has at least 4096x3072 pixel and 12 bit per color channel
02:17
troy_s
Bertl: Interesting. Well I'm sure that slikdigit can probably pull up a deep frame from ED or something.
02:19
Bertl
and yes, I've seen Elephant's Dream ... loved it!

Bertl: Why does that second link calculate the inverse of the B matrix, then mults by A, then B?
03:04
troy_s
Can't you just mult A by B?
03:05
Bertl
which one?
03:05
Bertl
you can set a formula on the french link
03:06
Bertl
not sure what you have set there, but if you put C=A*B there, it is just a multiplication
03:06
Bertl
(or B*A if that is what you want)
03:06
troy_s
I see C= B^-1*A*B
03:06
troy_s
Which seems... Odd.
03:07
Bertl
well, then replace the right side by A*B or B*A
03:08
troy_s
I realize that. Was just wondering why it would default to that.
03:08
troy_s
Odd.
03:08
Bertl
the french are sometimes odd, so no idea why ...
03:09
Bertl
note that reinitialize the page always generates a random formular
03:09
troy_s
Ah.
03:09
troy_s
Random!
03:09
Bertl
well, at least it seems to me like that :)
03:09
troy_s
Bertl: What's an invariant?
03:09
troy_s
(n^-1?)
03:10
Bertl
in the mathematical sense, an invariant is something that remains unchanged during transformation

troy_s, could you elaborate why pci (or similar) would be a bad idea for interboard connections? The idea is to screw everything together to the enclosure, and use some kind of connectors between each board. We can't solder them together :-) There is also the issue of price and serviceability (easy to unscrew a board and replace it).

slikdigit: any deep depth 709 / srgb?
17:49

maybe check the exr frames from ToS

or the clean or raw footage

I just created a 16bit tiff from a photo of the prototype: https://cloud.gerade.org/public.php?service=files&t=88644302ffde4f6e5659627a3c8bbf32&download&path=/Axiom/alpha/axiom-alpha-hardware-logo.7z
