hi supragya
16:42
supragya
France won... did you side with them? Which was the country you were rooting for?
16:45
BAndiT1983
we were hoping for france, otherwise croatians would be driving and honking like crazy through the streets here ;)
16:46
BAndiT1983
they were still honking and driving, but a lot less then before or like in berlin, which was totally bonkers
16:47
BAndiT1983
saw just one car with french flag and it was resting on the lap of the passenger, they were probably afraid to wave in our city district with so many guys and girls from croatia :D

final game was really good, it was just the second match i've seen in this championship

and proudly I can share that all you students passed phase 2, some with good some with ecellent evaluations :)
17:02
TofuLynx
Hello :)
17:03
se6astian
nmdis199-: your turn
17:03
nmdis199-
Okay!
17:03
nmdis199-
Last week first I re-wrote the code to calculate luminance using my previous tools (dump_raw and load_raw) the code is ../opt/ITI/new_tools -> waveform.c so that all the previous issues could be removed.
17:04
nmdis199-
Then I simply used waveform.c in another called graph.c which calculated luminance (as waveform.c) and then wrote that luminance data into a .txt file named “output.txtâ€.
17:04
nmdis199-
I calculated luminance value as “0.299*buf[i]+ 0.587* ((buf[i+1]+buf[i+2])/2)+ 0.114*buf[i+3]†as data in frame buffer is of format RG1G2B. The values seems right to me :)
17:04
nmdis199-
After that I copied the txt file via ssh back to my computer to plot the graph using gnuplot. The output.txt contains 3072*1536 i.e 4,718,592 values and when I tried plotting it the gnu interface crashed.
17:04
nmdis199-
So, I plotted luminance of one row of frame buffer (6144 bytes, or 1,536 luminance values) here -> https://imgur.com/a/vMPkZHS
17:04
nmdis199-
Similarly, I tried plotting data for 500,5000, and 10,000 luminance value which can be seen here respectively

17:05
nmdis199-
I'll try to do some more work regarding plotting
17:05
nmdis199-
and have already started regarding vectorscope tool
17:05
nmdis199-
I am also in contact with alex to discuss more about it
17:05
nmdis199-
That's all for this week :)
17:06
TofuLynx
Where did you plot ?
17:06
nmdis199-
using gnuplot on my system
17:06
nmdis199-
it wasn't good to plot it on beta
17:06
TofuLynx
Okk thanks :)
17:06
nmdis199-
you're welcome! :D
17:07
se6astian
very nice, thank you
17:07
se6astian
the images you captured and plotted are essentially dark right?
17:07
nmdis199-
yes, they are.
17:08
nmdis199-
however, whenever I try to plot full data gnu interface crashesh
17:08
nmdis199-
which is a problem.
17:08
se6astian
would be interesting to capture some images with content, like the it8 color chart we installed in front of the beta at the office
17:08
TofuLynx
Do you know why that happens?
17:08
se6astian
any error message?
17:08
nmdis199-
no, no error message. I assume it is because the data is really large? Not sure though
17:09
nmdis199-
it pops a window but the whole window is black it shows nothing
17:09
nmdis199-
and then ubuntu hangs
17:09
nmdis199-
I'd like to have more information on it8 color chart whenever you're free <se6astian>
17:10
se6astian
sure, its basically this image: https://www.image-engineering.de/content/products/charts/te258/images/TE258.jpg
17:10
nmdis199-
okay!
17:10
se6astian
right, lets debug this gnuplot problem separately, maybe Bertl_oO also has some ideas
17:11
se6astian
supragya your turn!
17:11
nmdis199-
yes, I guess will do that tonight.
17:11
supragya
Hi
17:11
supragya
So this week I was able to get some DNG out from the fabricated MLV file
17:11
supragya
This DNG has some issues with color which should not be very hard to solve...
17:12
supragya
It's magenta like and I am working on making it conform to the way MLV system wants it
17:12
supragya
The progress was shared with mentors g3gg0 and BAndiT1983
17:13
supragya
Also, the progress was a bit slow in last couple weeks, sorry for that... Company recruitment interviews were going on
17:13
supragya
Got software engineering role at Cisco
17:14
supragya
Hope to get the DNG problem sorted this week to move on to make new MLV blocks for linearization tables etc
17:14
supragya
That's all from my side...
17:14
TofuLynx
Cisco? That's great! :)
17:15
nmdis199-
Congratulations supragya ! :D
17:16
supragya
ty
17:16
se6astian
great, many thanks
17:17
se6astian
was the original source file a raw12 I assume right?
17:17
supragya
yes it is
17:17
se6astian
https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Raw2dng#Further_Notes
17:18
se6astian
if the raw12 was captured with an older version of cmv_snap3 the magenta tint is typical for having swapped lines (even/odd)
17:18
se6astian
maybe that could be the issue
17:18
se6astian
but maybe its something else
17:18
supragya
it's more of a different error
17:19
supragya
not like this
17:19
supragya
it's file writing error i presume on my end
17:19
se6astian
right
17:19
supragya
It is the intern's photo... so I guess that one does not have the issue you are talking about (Fredrick)
17:20
se6astian
it possibly has the issue
17:21
supragya
well, ill check and will mail you if problem persists
17:21
BAndiT1983
supragya, write data out and try to read it with cpp challenge code
17:21
supragya
s/ill/i'll
17:21
ymc98_1
Hello everyone. Nothing substantial to report for the week. Thank you.
17:21
supragya
BAndiT1983: what do you mean? to read raw12 using the cpp challenge code?
17:22
supragya
it is the exact photo I used in my CPP challenge code... worked great there...
17:22
BAndiT1983
yep, raw12 data out of your test dng file
17:23
supragya
I am not sure on how to extract the raw12 from dng
17:23
supragya
there is no offset fixed, even if there is i don't know the number
17:24
BAndiT1983
try to load it in OC and there you can read the tags maybe better
17:24
supragya
I'll try... but imo... there is no need for that... there may be... idk
17:24
Bertl_oO
ymc98_1: why not? :-)
17:25
supragya
I'll check and report back
17:25
se6astian
supragya: report done?
17:25
supragya
yes, se6astian
17:25
supragya
Thank you all
17:26
se6astian
you are welcome
17:26
se6astian
felix_: your turn
17:27
felix_
i have finished the layout of the axiom sdi externsion board yesterday :) it still needs to be reviewed though
17:27
Bertl_oO
did you happen to make gerbers?
17:28
felix_
yep
17:28
Bertl_oO
excellent, url?
17:28
felix_
21:33 < felix_> Bertl: http://sigsegv.notmysegfault.de/intern/AXIOM-photonSDI-hw.zip the gerber export. i hope i checked the right boxes for the drill files
17:28
felix_
i did some slight changes today, but those shouldn't make much difference
17:29
felix_
the design files are here https://github.com/felixheld/AXIOM-photonSDI-hw you need to use the symbols from the kicad symbols repository on my github though; haven't had time to upstream those
17:29
felix_
i also did a fresh export of the schematics http://sigsegv.notmysegfault.de/intern/AXIOM-photonSDI-hw.pdf
17:30
felix_
the design should probably be reviewed before it goes into production though
17:32
felix_
i find it a bit difficult to do the review myself, so it would be great if there would be someone else to also have a look
17:33
felix_
i think that was all i wanted to write
17:34
se6astian
great, thanks for the update
17:34
se6astian
TofuLynx: your turn
17:34
TofuLynx
Okay :)
17:35
felix_
i uploaded a current version of the gerber files right now
17:35
TofuLynx
Last week I was a bit busy, as I had to pile things up to move to my summer house, but I managed to have some progress
17:36
TofuLynx
The task is researching and implementing OpenCL
17:36
TofuLynx
And I created the base OpenCL file, which is used to initialize and load images into cl_mem (OpenCL memory objects )
17:38
TofuLynx
I tested it and it runs without any problems. Now the next step is to run Kernel. So, I started today creating a kernel code. I will do some basic blurring kernel code which should make the unit test easier to evaluate the output
17:38
TofuLynx
However, my mentor tested the OpenMP code on his VM and noticed some strange errors
17:38
TofuLynx
errors in image debayering, which have a lot of noise
17:39
nmdis199-
left the channel
17:39
TofuLynx
I wasn't able to replicate it on my machine, even with my cores capped at two cores
17:39
TofuLynx
Which is strange
17:40
nmdis199-
joined the channel
17:40
TofuLynx
So, this week, I have to investigate those issues with BAndiT1983, and, if everything goes well, to have a finished implementation of Bilinear Debayer in OpenCL
17:40
ymc98_1
The setup time and hold time issues still persist for the transceiver for MachXO2. I modified the design and reduced the operating frequency to half. I am still looking for other solutions.
17:41
TofuLynx
That's all, se6astian :D
17:41
se6astian
thanks!
17:42
nmdis199-
be back later :)
17:42
se6astian
another quick update from me: vup and anuejn visited us in Vienna over the weekend for development and collaboration, so that was nice :)
17:42
TofuLynx
That's cool!
17:43
se6astian
anyone else have anything to share/report?
17:45
se6astian
right, then I conclude this weeks meeting
17:46
se6astian
feel free to chat/discuss anything again now :)
