14:29 | Bertl | morning folks!
| |
15:06 | se6ast1an | good day
| |
17:01 | se6ast1an | MEETING TIME!
| |
17:01 | se6ast1an | who is here?
| |
17:01 | se6ast1an | and who wants to report?
| 17:01 | Bertl | is here ...
|
17:01 | se6ast1an | vup, anuejn ?
| |
17:01 | se6ast1an | BAndiT1983|away: ?
| |
17:02 | bluez_[m] | * bluez_ is here
| |
17:02 | se6ast1an | hi bluez_[m], great!
| |
17:02 | se6ast1an | bluez_[m]: do you want to start?
| |
17:02 | bluez_[m] | okay!
| |
17:02 | bluez_[m] | nothing much this week though, just made some more improvements on the driver
| |
17:03 | bluez_[m] | for instance, the "name" sysfs entry for the fpgas are now set through devicetree entries rather than hardcoding them
| |
17:03 | bluez_[m] | and so on
| |
17:04 | bluez_[m] | also I am done with the article entry!
| |
17:04 | Bertl | woohoo!
| |
17:04 | se6ast1an | great!, looking forward to it, please email, or did you do it in a google doc?
| 17:05 | metal_dent[m] | is here
|
17:05 | bluez_[m] | Had some confusion with the picture to send... bertl suggested I try to take a picture of mine working on the betas... I tried but as of now couldn't get a decent picture ':D... so I have a screenshot which could also be work..
| |
17:05 | se6ast1an | fine :)
| |
17:06 | bluez_[m] | <se6ast1an "great!, looking forward to it, p"> Not in google doc but I can do that... guess it would be easier to make some changes that way..
| |
17:06 | se6ast1an | yes, sounds good
| |
17:06 | se6ast1an | anything else bluez_[m]?
| |
17:06 | bluez_[m] | so thats it from me...
| |
17:06 | se6ast1an | great, thanks!
| |
17:06 | se6ast1an | metal_dent[m]: do you want to go next?
| |
17:07 | metal_dent[m] | sure
| |
17:07 | metal_dent[m] | i have also completed the article and will share it in google doc
| |
17:07 | metal_dent[m] | but haven't decided on the photo yet (still confused ':D )
| |
17:08 | metal_dent[m] | that's all from me..
| |
17:08 | Bertl | take a picture of you being confused :)
| |
17:08 | se6ast1an | great, thanks :)
| |
17:08 | metal_dent[m] | > take a picture of you being confused :)
| |
17:08 | metal_dent[m] | that i can do as i'm really good at funny pictures of mine :P
| |
17:09 | se6ast1an | apoorva_arora, you here?
| |
17:09 | se6ast1an | preetimenghwani[: as well?
| |
17:09 | Bertl | metal_dent[m]: looking forward to it!
| |
17:09 | bluez_[m] | metal_dent: have the same issue xD
| |
17:09 | se6ast1an | quick updates from me:
| |
17:10 | se6ast1an | I continue working on the prober software, now the focus is on increasing accuracy, or rather reducing inaccuracy
| |
17:10 | se6ast1an | dug into open CV for that today
| |
17:10 | se6ast1an | improved fiducial recognition: https://cloud.apertus.org/index.php/apps/gallery/#pcb%20prober/irc-meeting-14-09-2020/Screenshot%20at%202020-09-14%2018-03-44.png
| |
17:11 | se6ast1an | also added switchable analysis display modes to see whats going on in the different "layers" (HSV), etc.
| |
17:11 | Bertl | (that's a link which requires a login)
| |
17:11 | se6ast1an | ah sorry
| |
17:11 | se6ast1an | https://cloud.apertus.org/index.php/apps/gallery/s/bPExRjeXZGqDwbW#irc-meeting-14-09-2020/Screenshot%20at%202020-09-14%2018-03-44.png
| |
17:12 | se6ast1an | now working on pad recognition, already with not too bad results: https://cloud.apertus.org/index.php/apps/gallery/s/bPExRjeXZGqDwbW#irc-meeting-14-09-2020/Screenshot%20at%202020-09-14%2018-03-30.png
| |
17:14 | se6ast1an | minor misc stuff: I cut out rubber feet for the beta and discussed with other people at the factory hub how we could manufacture those DIY after alser cutting didnt work out too well and creating a custom stamping tool is an overkill for a prototype
| |
17:14 | se6ast1an | milling and drag knife cutting were interesting ideas to explore
| |
17:15 | se6ast1an | where the drag knife could be utilized in the CNC mill as tool
| |
17:15 | se6ast1an | and milling possibly with the rubber in a sandwich between wood plates for example
| |
17:16 | se6ast1an | for hardware manufacturing I sent a combined BOM to tele last week containing parts from all 4 boards in one mixed panel
| |
17:16 | se6ast1an | thats it from my side
| |
17:16 | se6ast1an | Bertl, your turn
| |
17:16 | Bertl | thanks!
| |
17:16 | Bertl | well, besides helping out (a little) with the prober and checking the transformation math as well as our options there
| |
17:17 | Bertl | I spent most of my time testing KiCad 5.1.6, getting used to the workflow, designing new symbols and footprints
| |
17:18 | Bertl | working with hierarchical sheets (to some extend) and figuring out work arounds for existing bugs and missing features
| |
17:19 | Bertl | the results are quite promising, so I'm positive that we can switch to KiCad very soon
| |
17:20 | Bertl | I also investigated 'new' features like circuit simulation via ngspice (which is in the early stages) and 3D rendering for visualization, which seems to work reasonably well but missed 3D models for many parts
| |
17:20 | Bertl | that's it from my side for this week
| |
17:21 | se6ast1an | great, will you design the ultra96 to beta interface board in kicad?
| |
17:21 | Bertl | very likely
| |
17:21 | se6ast1an | nice
| |
17:22 | se6ast1an | ok, anybody else here?
| |
17:22 | bluez_[m] | do checkout my blog entry -> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_PKsSKHkGRIUN7wOeRmOWtRXzGtcp1Q7XuVk4l958oQ/edit?usp=sharing
| |
17:22 | Bertl | I plan to work on Eagle to KiCad conversion this week, so if that goes reasonably well, I do not see a problem with doing the ultra96 interface in KiCad
| |
17:25 | bluez_[m] | also the picture looks good? -> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VEDucovKrjAaMrxeS4sQ05pPqHAH1k_Z/view?usp=sharing
| |
17:25 | bluez_[m] | (in case I wont be able to get a decent picture of myself still)
| |
17:29 | Bertl | well, the 'blog entry' seems a little short, given that 90% is links :)
| |
17:29 | Bertl | anyway, not up to me to decide here ...
| |
17:31 | bluez_[m] | sebastian mentioned it should be around 600 characters (including spaces)... and i guess it is...
| |
17:31 | bluez_[m] | excluding the links ofc..
| |
17:39 | metal_dent[m] | yeah mine is also short as i tried to fit into 600 characters
| |
17:42 | Bertl | so be it ...
| |
18:54 | anuejn | a little late to the show (sorry)
| |
18:54 | anuejn | I didnt get much done this week unfortunately as I had to deal with other unpleasnt stuff :(
| |
19:28 | Bertl | off for now ... bbl
