good morning
07:11
Bertl
good morning everyone!
07:12
guesst
hi all
07:12
guesst
have any idea how to detect the base iso of the sensor?
07:21
Bertl
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_speed#SOS maybe?
07:22
Bertl
(and similar for Ssat)
07:23
guesst
118d is out of sensor then?
07:24
Bertl
well, with gamma 2.2 as it seems
07:25
Bertl
(the sensor is linear)
07:25
se6astian
to get a quick estimate you can use another camera with identical lens, aperture, focal length, shutter time, etc and turn the settings until you get the levels when pointing at a white wall for example
07:25
se6astian
*the same levels
07:26
guesst
http://www.imatest.com/docs/sensitivity_ei/ - some more about the subject
07:28
Bertl
if you get a black (hole) sun, run :)
07:48
guesst
going for se6astian 's advice :) i do not have a lux meter :)

dmj_nova
se6astian: can we divorce the sensor/fpga unit from the backplane?
10:09
dmj_nova
Doing that would allow for varying form factor and expandability by swapping the backplane only
10:10
se6astian
sure
10:10
se6astian
thats the idea :)
10:12
dmj_nova
se6astian: So in that case, you're not really having to replace the whole thing to get different levels of expandability
10:13
dmj_nova
It would be like upgrading a case/motherboard and keeping CPU, GPU, HDD/SSDs, PSU etc
10:14
se6astian
exactly
10:14
se6astian
and the backplane itself is a "rather" simple/cheap PCB
10:14
dmj_nova
As long as the design allows for 3 slot, 6 slot, etc configs that would be fine
10:16
dmj_nova
also, with the flexible risers, it would be totally possible to relocate certain units in a model
10:17
dmj_nova
without bandwidth issues, since it doesn't cause problems with modern GPUs which are all about the memory bandwidth (also all about the wattage)
10:21
dmj_nova
of course what drives this bus?
10:23
Bertl
the bus driver :)
10:28
dmj_nova
hmm...so it seems that there is a cpu, which connects to the "root complex" (basically the PCIe controller) and the root complex interfaces with the end points
10:31
Bertl
yes, let's build a PC :)
