anuejn: should be quite easy to make a board with two sata-3 connectors

if it needs external ram, things will get much more complicated, but if it isn't needed, it's mostly remving components and adding the sata connectors

for the dp++ output boad i'd keep the si5342 chip in the design, since a fixed frequency isn't sufficient for the hdmi conpatibility mode

but SFF8087 is easy/simple too (except for the larger size)

felix_: no, you don't need ram on the board to use litesata

and what is required for OOB signalling?

yes, it can do 1.5/3/6G

sounds promising

if there will be some completely new camera generation in a few years, it would be good to have gtp/gtx/... lanes on the extension connectors so not every extension module that need fast signals needs its own fpga
