if my measurements are correct, we get an update in around 55ms, it's still a huge time (for my liking), but investigation is ongoing and i will add more unit tests to ensure proper drawing, so the overhead there is reduced

couldn't succeed in building XC32 myself, as the source from microchip are not complete or at least are missing proper scripts

we should investigate how to create clean thumbnails, as many small texts from original images are distracting the eye, full image with text would appear after clicking

Happy with a solution for that as long as the tags stay intact if someone takes the images.

Exactly.

Footage can be shot at any time, but I’ll try to find ways to also shoot things during real productions (upcoming short film, feature documentary, scenes for a feature film or behind the scenes during shooting)

it's more of the general thing, the microchip toolchain is forcing one into their universe

so I see no advantage of "leaving that universe" as you say or am I missing something?

it was also proposed to go the FPGA route with some Lattice ECP part, but I think this adds flexibility where we do not need it while complicating stuff and adding a lot of resource overhead

Bertl: is there a roadmap for pic32? cannot find what microchip is planning generally

sam e70 is also theirs now, since acquisition of atmel, but arm is more open than pic32
