Okay, as you probably heard, we got some problems with parts not being available where we hadn't expected it

as a result, we have been investigating alternatives for power board and main board

and we decided to start with the next generation power board early

so I have been spending all day and night the last two weeks to create a design, figure out parts and availability, test and simulate potential solutions, etc

and it looks like everything is coming together ...

the new power board will have a number of nice features, but as the design is not complete yet, I don't want to go into details because one or the other feature might not make it into the first version

nevertheless, the main features of the new board will be:

- reduced power consumption based on switching regulators

- digital adjustments and high precision measurements

- fine tuned control over all the power rails including power on/off and sleep

DC barrel connector attached directly to the PB with a cable mechanical trimmer (discontinued) replacement -> switching regulators with digital voltage control PICO SPOX power input connector will be moved "into" the PB so the cable can be routed inside the camera enclosure towards the backside RGB LED and pushbutton (ALPS SKSNLAE010 currently considered) moved from smart power adapter to PB (top side, north east)
