axiom beta -> decklink capture cards is not really working ...

and currently I see a green image but with the correct axiom beta overlay. what could cause this, Bertl?

okay with the decklink mini recorder we only get red and green tones, with a correct overlay. With a blackmagic pocket camera it works fine, also with intensity shuttle as capture card via usb.

matrix and LUTs do not affect the overlay, only the image from the sensor

maybe you just think that the overlay is correct

once that is done, the resulting RGB 8bit values are encoded for HDMI

we havent experimented with luts etc. yet

btw, you can simply try with loading a few overlays or even images from SD card

if you have a specific recording system you want to be tested with the camera, the best way is to send it to us and we will check it

We can't set the subsampling in the card for the input.

this is probably hard to debug as you can't look into the capture cards

probably some deviation from spec/standard

we never expected that everything works out of the box

it can encode into alien communications if you can write a core

there is no encoder.

theory by clemens: is the blue led flashing with the same rate as the fps?

encoding on the Beta is doable, but consumes a lot of resources and probably won't work above full HD

regarding shutter, you set the exposure time and the sequencer alignes the exposures with the HDMI frame rate

the actual output frame rate is determined by the exposre plus transfer time

for the gamma curve, there is a shell script and a C tool which adjusts the LUTs

what are these scripts and tools for the gamma curve?

btw, the image you linked looks like YCrCb

lut_conf3 is the C tool to set any LUTs including the gamma LUTs
