i dreamt of filling the axiom beta up with non-conductive fluid for cooling

Im thinking sealing the hdmi ports will be the problem

there are watertight HDMI ports IIRC

The fluid would eminate (?) heat via the body, and be transported around through convection, and possibly the fan

with the added benefit of having less/no noise

there are parts in the Beta which can get very hot, like the FPGA

having a medium connecting them will result in heat transfer between FPGA and sensor

im thinking net benefits to cooling will lessen the effects of transfer

it would be way simpler to simply connect the FPGA and maybe the power board to the body

Or that it would-re-circulate to a large degree around the contact point

if you want to go for passive cooling via the body, I would isolate the lens mount (maybe the entire front) from the rest of the body

I would more probably screw a massive heatsink to the body, and heatpipe through the shell

I also thought of something (while awake) How about a system where you can dial in the focal ranges for stationary rolling shutter shots

So lets say you devide the picture into 5 parts, and set up the distances for each, it could then do that live when taking the image, getting everything in focus

if you want everything in focus, just choose a small aperture :)

would need to be quite fast I guess

Lets say you just quickly drew a curve of what the distance was top to bottom in the image

That would take right now, many many many images to do, and a whole lot of manual editing

well, focus changes require mechanical movement and I doubt that this will work across the focal range within a frame

comradekingu, if I read the scrollback correctly, you just want a motion controlled programmable AF puller that works via the lens interface, right?

just a bit of software to sequence it, really
