Hey BAndiT1983 , We have imageprovider::load function for each kind of file like .mlv , .tiff but i am unable to loccate the position for adobeDNG's load , i am sure its not in the occore/image directory .

Good afternoon
15:19
Bertl
Hello DanielCS!
15:20
DanielCS
How are you today?
15:21

fine, thanks! and you?
15:21

Also, thank you!

15:25
DanielCS
How have things been?
15:26
se6astian
good good, very busy, but good :)
15:26
se6astian
unfortunately not too much time for CAD design
15:26
se6astian
but I hope thats where you can help out :)
15:26
se6astian
and how are you?
15:26
DanielCS
Glad to hear it! I understand that, I'm the same.
15:27
DanielCS
I've found it a bit difficult to learn what I need to from the program for this part.
15:28
se6astian
right, are there things I can explain show you right now?
15:28
se6astian
have about 30 minutes before I need to leave
15:28
se6astian
*explain/show
15:29
DanielCS
I thought it'd be easier to just start over with creating a duplicate of the part, but the tolerances may not be right.
15:29
se6astian
dont worry about tolerances at first
15:30
se6astian
starting a new part is indeed a good idea
15:30
se6astian
often I model a part, then make changes, then again remove stuff I added earlier and so the model hierarchy becomes a mess
15:31
se6astian
much cleaner to start fresh if a part has a different focus/purpose
15:31
DanielCS
Okay that's good. I tried building off of a duplicate of the original but the constraints were set up in such a way that I couldn't figure out how to adjust just the length. So good to hear about starting fresh.

15:35
DanielCS
My worry is that with the new part, there are some measurements that don't necessarily work well with one another once the length is changed.
15:37
DanielCS
I'm not sure of how to fix that. Even when some sketches are referencing parts of the sketch that don't change with the length, they still move or become unconstrained when the length changes..
15:41
DanielCS
Once I get this figured out, will you need anything done with your shim design?
15:41
se6astian
you can use variables for particular values that you want to make adjustable
15:42
se6astian
have you used a variable before?
15:42
se6astian
feedback fo the shims would be appreciated
15:42
se6astian
especially the locking/holding pins - I am not sure they are long enough to prevent the shims from sliding off
15:43
se6astian
and if they are large enough to hold the shims...
15:43
se6astian
there isnt much room though for making the pins even longer...

I had read the variable page you had linked me to. I think I had misunderstood something. I'll go back to my own project file and do some testing to try and build some simple shapes to learn some of this better than trying to learn while modeling the part itself.
15:46
se6astian
good idea
15:47
BAndiT1983
Dev_: please look at DNG specification, e.g. in Wiki, it's was derived from TIFF
15:49
DanielCS
As for the shims, looking at what you sent me, would the screws from the lens mount, through the shims, and into the camera body be enough to align the shims without need for the pins?
15:49
se6astian
definitely, the pins are meant to hold the shims in place when you take the screws out to add or remove shim layers
15:52
DanielCS
Because I really like the idea of the pins, but like you sid, the length of them affects how many shims can be added.
15:55
se6astian
no the number of shims should not be affected
15:55
se6astian
also you dont normally stack a lot of shims
15:56
se6astian
rather you remove the shims and add a thicker one
15:57
se6astian
ok gotta pack up
15:58
se6astian
please experiment and play around with test designs and models
15:58
se6astian
then let me know when we can meet again and discuss next steps
15:58
se6astian
bye
15:58
DanielCS
Alright. Thanks for meeting. I'll train myself on how to get the results we want from onshape

BAndiT1983: so we will be using tiffloader.cpp for reading headers of adobeDNG , ?
17:16
BAndiT1983
it's already doing it, if you check the code of processingtest and others
17:16
BAndiT1983
have you tried to load some dng image through processingtest?
17:18
BAndiT1983
one of the next steps is to add libraw to be able to load more image date, but to maintain current loader for other tags in files, as libraw is not reading them
17:19
Dev_
i guess, https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema/opencine/blob/master/Source/ProcessingTest/Presenters/ProcessingPresenter.cpp
17:20
Dev_
presenter::show is code doing that
17:20
BAndiT1983
yes, the presenter, using MVP there
17:21
Dev_
i think even current load function like mlv::load are not ablt to extract the all the frames at this time
17:21
Dev_
able*
17:21
Dev_
we have to make changes in them
17:21
BAndiT1983
MLV loader is only a prototype and loads first frame
17:21
BAndiT1983
the whole loading structure has to be adjusted to request frame space from static allocator
17:23
Dev_
okay ! , so we need to extend them for extracting all the frames
17:24
BAndiT1983
yes
17:24

off for now
