bluez: would you like to start
17:02
bluez
sure!
17:02
bluez
so last week, i was able to generate a bitstream with a single LUT, and verify it working
17:03
bluez
i generated another bitstream with only a few bits changed in the LUT, so that i can upload only the frames that differ
17:04
bluez
for this i studied the bitstream structure and also wrote a script to extract frames given the frame addresses
17:04
bluez
although i still have to do some more investigation before i can test with partial reconfiguration...
17:05
bluez
there is an issue that i discussed with Bertl, currently working on that... should be done with that soon
17:06
bluez
and i got my microzed this week finally! set it up and its working great, thanks! :)
17:06
bluez
thats it from me
17:07
Bertl
excellent!
17:07

17:08
eppisai
hi! yeh..
17:09

17:10
se6ast1an
the music! you did it :D
17:11
eppisai
bandiT1983 is helping me with this task, we discussed about adding the button to control speed in GUI so we don't have to flash again and again to check the speed
17:11
se6ast1an
great work!
17:12
eppisai
yeh..! : D.. music makes everything better! So continuing.. now i have also adde few more things after thrusday
17:12
se6ast1an
very good, I assume you will have a PR soon, looking forward to try this on the actual hardware
17:13
eppisai
A GUI element to control the speed, and have added a enum in utils.cpp.. will share the complete progress once my network gets back to normal..
17:13
eppisai
and

17:13
BAndiT1983
se6ast1an: there is a bit of work to be done, as currently the logic is only in the visualiser
17:14
BAndiT1983
we have discussed how to move it, or at least pack in the way, so it can be moved to firmware later
17:14
se6ast1an
ah
17:14
se6ast1an
right
17:14
eppisai
above is the, I talked with BAandiT1983, will need some time with the the it
17:14
se6ast1an
I am sure you will figure out a good path
17:14
eppisai
yeh..
17:15
eppisai
So, as we will try to complete this..
17:16
eppisai
thats it i think from my side :)
17:16
se6ast1an
many thanks
17:16
se6ast1an
quick report from shohei who sent me this:
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> 1. I checked 3D-CAD data onshape.
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> I think I could get concept of the mechanical design at least. (They are wonderful works and I'm very inspired!)
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> 2. Today, Mr. Rex made Japanese SNS group on "Line," which I joined today and will run carefully following the mission statement.
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> Thank you very much for praparing SNS for Japanese local team.
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> 3. I will start translateing materials into Japanese, after Mr. Rex prepared for the links for it.
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> I'm going to read the contents on PCBs this week while it got late.
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> (Also, I will try to catch up the contents of the IRC meeting which I was absent.)
17:17
se6ast1an
<Shohei> Thank you :)
17:18
se6ast1an
maybe Mr Rex would like to share about his "Line" efforts, which I am sure most of you have never heard of (like me) ?
17:18
se6ast1an
BAndiT1983: please go ahead with your report
17:18
BAndiT1983
alright, hi everyone
17:18
aombk
joined the channel
17:19
BAndiT1983
first the updates from metal_dent[m], who asked me to provide them at the meeting
17:19
Bertl
se6ast1an: yeah, was curious about that as well
17:19
BAndiT1983
she was mostly trying to analyze the USB problem we've discovered lately, axiom remote suddenly stopped to register correctly in linux, maybe some updates or changes in the kernel, still analyzing
17:20
Bertl
so it works with an older Linux kernel (on the PC) but not with a newer one?
17:20
BAndiT1983
have asked her to adjust the features she has done at gsoc, namely ICSP, to UART, so we don't lose time there, which she now started to analyze
17:20
Bertl
if so, can you provide the kernel versions for a quick test here?
17:21
BAndiT1983
Bertl: have to install older kernel and check again, but after checks with your and my code, there is definitely some problem, am also still analyzing
17:21
BAndiT1983
5.10.7-3-MANJARO
17:21
Bertl
because if we can narrow down the kernel version change, this might shed some clues
17:22
BAndiT1983
now onto my tasks, was mostly working on the "pick and place" script for the PCB production, adjusted the coordinates and reworked pre-visualisation, se6ast1an will tell the results of meeting with Tele regarding that
17:23
BAndiT1983
besides that, have continued to work on the remote, especially USB part, like already mentioned, but also exception handling to reduce bug/crash searching time
17:23
BAndiT1983
that would be it for now
17:23
Bertl
great!
17:23
se6ast1an
thanks BAndiT1983!
17:24
se6ast1an
quick updates from me regarding the production run:
17:24
se6ast1an
stencil was ordered, processed, manufactured and shipped
17:24
se6ast1an
today tele team verified it against the physical hardware by putting the stencil on the panel
17:24
se6ast1an
everything looking good
17:25
se6ast1an
the last component deliveries are still in transit to belgium though
17:25
se6ast1an
once they arrived will be forwarded to austria
17:26
se6ast1an
especially samtec disappointed by not replying to our ETA question emails, their customer service had always been excellent before...
17:26
se6ast1an
farnell also canceled a few orders without notice, not nice
17:26
se6ast1an
got Tele internal part ID and started labeling parts accordingly today, barcode, stickers, reels, etc.
17:27
se6ast1an
there are only a few parts IDs left to be assigned so that process should soon be finished
17:27
se6ast1an
I produced several 3d printed trays for certain chips over the weekend
17:28
se6ast1an
the ESD conductive filament is proofing difficult to print
17:28
se6ast1an
but normal PLA worked fine and I received a special ESD coating spray today
17:28
se6ast1an
that I just applied to the 3D prints
17:28
se6ast1an
will measure surface resistance as soon as it dried
17:29
se6ast1an
if that turns out ok this way of creating trays would be prefered
17:29
se6ast1an
pick and place coordinates we generate in a script were tested today with the actual machine software, everything loaded fine and looks sane and correctly rotated with this first test.
17:30
se6ast1an
I guess thats it from my side for this week
17:30
se6ast1an
I will continue with component labeling/applying stickers
17:31
se6ast1an
and in a week maybe have all parts from belgium here already, fingers crossed
17:31
se6ast1an
signed production contract from oscar was forwarded to tele today
17:31
se6ast1an
Bertl: do you have news for us?
17:32
se6ast1an
ah, also received 10 ralink wifi sticks
17:32
Bertl
not many unfortunately ...
17:32
se6ast1an
will verify they work with a microzed in the coming days
17:32
Bertl
I started with the SMA boards which we got from OSHpark
17:33
Bertl
and I plan to continue with the TE0714 boards on the software side soon
17:33
se6ast1an
what is an SMA board?
17:33
Bertl
the one which we will need to measure/test the PCB performance for comparison
17:34
Bertl
I also helped out here and there and provided some clues :)
17:34
Bertl
that's it from my side for this week
17:35
se6ast1an
thanks!
17:36
se6ast1an
anyone else who has news/ideas/things to share?
17:38
se6ast1an
right then this concludes our weekly meeting, many thanks everyone who participated!
17:39
Bertl
thanks for moderating!
17:40

sorry for missing the meeting
21:46
anuejn
I mostly did verification / bug fixes of cores in the nmigen gateware this week
21:47
anuejn
I started to use symbiyosys to do property checking of some cores and found many bugs :)
21:48
anuejn
In the process I rewrote a lot of code
21:49
anuejn
now the cores really (provably) follow our stream contract and therfore all cores should work together
21:49
anuejn
also some cores are now compositions of simpler cores and therfore much easier to understand
21:49
anuejn
thats it from me :)
22:14
se6ast1an
very good, thanks!
