troy_s: can you explain your dislike regarding Gphoto?
07:51
davidak
as i understand the axiom must support Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) or Media Transfer Protocol to use it with applications built on top of gphoto
07:52
davidak
i don't know them, but maybe they work with more programs
08:13

Sorry to drop a question and run but I got errands to do. Does anyone know where I can find switches. Imparticular this one is a special one. Momentary Potentiometer, bonus points if it has a 3 position push…..
19:23
Rebelj12a
I.e. a potentiometer that turns left and right with variable reading degrees, and can be pulled like a trigger to switch between 3 positions.
19:28
Rebelj12a
Any help would of course be appreciated
19:31
Rebelj12a
I guess in that way it would be single axis joystick potentiometer i suppose. I dont know, just trying to figure out names XD
19:31
Rebelj12a
or rocker potentiometer not sure. D:
19:39
Rebelj12a
Although I suppose I could engineer a mount for a momentary potentiometer attached to a momentary slider button I dont know options. Dont know my options and not finding much on google
19:40
Bertl_oO
what the hell is a momentary potentiometer? :)
19:41
Bertl_oO
(or slider, fwiw :)
19:41
Rebelj12a
Hah, its a potentiometer that when turned left or right, returns to its original position center afterwards while giving a linear output.
19:44
Rebelj12a
Slider is a separate idea, if the switch can be found that has it built in thats a plus. Not only would it give potentiometer output but it could also be moved in a single direction with 3 actuations, technically 3 positions. Similer to how a push button can have 3 positions built in. Such as top middle and center for selecting 3 different things.
19:45
Rebelj12a
The “push†part of it would be OFF-ON1-ON2-ON3
19:46
Rebelj12a
Potentiometer would be Output(Neg) - Center (off) - Output(pos)
19:49
Rebelj12a
Momentary so snap action back to center.
19:51
Rebelj12a
Also may be called momentary rotary encoder possibly dont know how those work
19:56
Rebelj12a
oooh rotary encoders are fun
