17:00 | se6astian | MEETING TIME, who is here?
| |
17:02 | se6astian | anyone? :)
| |
17:02 | cscar | joined the channel
17:03 | se6astian | hi oscar!
| |
17:05 | cscar | Hi
| |
17:05 | se6astian | any progress with the 3d print enclosure you want to share oscar?
| |
17:06 | cscar | Yes.
| |
17:06 | se6astian | great!
| |
17:08 | cscar | In short: I've modified the beta compact design to a printable version. It turned out too tight to fit everything (because it needs thicker walls than the metal version)
| |
17:09 | cscar | So I resized everything 6mm larger and it fits perfectly. I've test printed one in silver and black plastic to keep the look of the metal version.
| |
17:11 | cscar | The Beta internals are fixed to the bottom plate and the mid and top part slide over and are secured by 4 screws that go from top to bottom for sturdiness. Still needs some refinements to make it strong enough for lots of handling.
| |
17:13 | cscar | No working on the Lattepanda/Magewell recorder enclosure that fits this design. But I'm also looking into a different look of the camera. That's for later ;)
| |
17:14 | se6astian | very cool
| |
17:14 | se6astian | any pictures you can share with us?
| |
17:14 | cscar | That's about it from me. Just downloaded the new firmware to install.
| |
17:17 | se6astian | any pictures you can share with us?
| |
17:19 | se6astian | brief updates: oscar is downloading a new firmware because vup/anuejn/BAndiT1983 implemented some additions to the WEBUI
| |
17:19 | se6astian | PLR HDR GUI elements
| |
17:20 | se6astian | next steps are adding some buttons to the webui to initiate certain commands
| |
17:20 | se6astian | eg. turning HDMI output on/off
| |
17:20 | cscar | I'm uploading pictures to: https://lab.apertus.org/M40
| |
17:20 | se6astian | also the dashboard yml should now be prevented from being empty if there is an error in it
| |
17:21 | se6astian | there is also some discussion about how certain registers/parameters can be transfered between cameras/people with presets
| |
17:21 | se6astian | vup had some ideas about that that we might see in action soon
| |
17:21 | se6astian | Bertl and me just had a VC with people from the university of rochester about FPGA based eye tracking
| |
17:21 | se6astian | will be interesting to see what direction they will go in the future
| |
17:22 | se6astian | I sent cscar some v mount plates to implement into the enclosure so I am also curious what you will come up with in that regard
| |
17:22 | se6astian | in general I think a prolonged camera design that shifts the center of weight backwards will be intersting and a natural step how the vmount plates could be used
| |
17:23 | se6astian | I plan to visit manfred/Bertl on thursday to pick up heatsinks, laser cut ZIF brackets and maybe flex hdmi ribbon cables, time to be confirmed
| |
17:24 | cscar | Yes, thanks! Do we want to use these plates as they are or do you want us to make our own in the end? Could be tricky with the spring release etc.
| |
17:24 | se6astian | I would use existing plates
| |
17:26 | se6astian | we could see if its possible to integrate the DCDC adapter you are using into the 3d print parts around it
| |
17:26 | cscar | OK, perfect. They are brand-less anyway. I was already thinking about a horizontal recorderand V-mount behind it on top of a shoulder mount. It'll make the camera longer, but better counterweight at the back.
| |
17:27 | cscar | A bit like the Arri alexa, but also like the (failed) Aja CION.
| |
17:28 | se6astian | there are some early concepts in this team talk episode
| |
17:28 | se6astian | https://www.apertus.org/fr/node/484
| |
17:28 | se6astian | maybe good inspiration
| |
17:28 | Bertl_oO | changed nick to: Bertl
| 17:28 | Bertl | is here now ...
|
17:29 | se6astian | great, oscar anything else?
| |
17:29 | se6astian | Bertl do you have news for us?
| |
17:29 | cscar | Great! I did see those before, but didn't know where. Thanks!
| |
17:29 | cscar | That's all from me.
| |
17:29 | Bertl | not much, the LAM/INT changes are well progressing, we should have something to test in the next few days
| |
17:30 | se6astian | cscar: btw very nice texture on the sideplate parts: https://lab.apertus.org/M40/283/ - did you sand them smooth?
| |
17:30 | Bertl | there are some issues to sort out, mostly leftovers from the sequencer, but nothing critical
| |
17:31 | Bertl | that's it from my side for this weel
| |
17:31 | Bertl | *week even
| |
17:33 | cscar | @sebastian Yes, I filled it a bit with polyester putty and sanded them.
| |
17:35 | se6astian | very nice
| |
17:35 | se6astian | thanks Bertl!
| |
17:35 | se6astian | ok, anyone else who has things to share/report?
| |
17:38 | se6astian | alright then, many thanks cscar & Bertl!
| |
17:38 | se6astian | MEETING CONCLUDED
| |
17:38 | cscar | Bye!
| |
17:38 | cscar | left the channel
18:19 | anuejn | Better late then never my report:
| |
18:19 | anuejn | me vup and my phlmn applied for the next round of prototypefund
| |
18:20 | anuejn | to add a gui to the axiom recorder and make it possible to use the software in post :)
| |
18:21 | anuejn | hope we get funded :)
| |
18:21 | anuejn | thats it from my side :)
| |
18:39 | se6astian | many thanks!
